Black Soldier Fly Farm Project
To create a sustainable feed source for Irene’s Pig Farm, FractionForFuture is developing a Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farm at St. Joseph the Worker, Catholic Diocese of Malindi. BSF larvae efficiently convert organic waste into high-protein animal feed, offering an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional pig feed.

Through veterinarian and board member Celeste van Hilten, the team connected with Victor Osage, a BSF farm specialist for coastal regions. On March 14, 2025, Victor will conduct an on-site analysis in Marafa to determine the optimal location, input-output balance, and infrastructure needs.
Following this assessment, he will return to Nairobi to finalize the planning before coming back to Marafa with a team to build the BSF farm. Father Peter Ndegwa advised
