1. Introduction
FractionForFuture was officially established on November 28, 2024, founded on the principle that the health of people, animals, and the environment is deeply interconnected. Though the initial reporting period was short, it marked the beginning of our commitment to grassroots, community-led action in Marafa, Kenya.
This report summarizes the foundation’s first operational steps and provides a transparent overview of our financial position at year-end.
2. Activity Report 2024
Despite the brief duration of our founding year, we took action to support food security and animal welfare in Marafa while also laying the groundwork for our internal operations.
Wheat Bran Support – Irene’s Pig Farm
We delivered 16 sacks of wheat bran to a newly renovated pig facility in Marafa. This shortterm intervention ensured that pigs had access to adequate nutrition during the initial phase of the farm’s operations. It was a practical step toward healthier animals and more resilient local food systems.
Foundational Expenses
To prepare and structure the foundation, we held several meetings among board members. These included meals and other minor expenditures related to governance, planning, and strategic alignment.
3. Governance
The board of FractionForFuture is composed of the following volunteer members:
- Chairperson: Thomas Schyns
- Treasurer: Celeste van Hilten
